Are you looking for challenge ? Are you curious and eager to take on an intership that will help you develop your skills and put your academic knowledge into practice ?
Would you like to join an innovative and agile company and contribute to its continued growth ?
To help us achieve our performance objectives, we are continuing to pursue our ambitions and strengthen our teams within our subsidiary, Bertin ALPAO.
Join us and apply for our intership opportunity entitled : Development of Advanced Opto-Mechanical Solutions for ALPAO Optical Test Benches.
The objective of this internship is to improve and develop the next generation of opto-mechanical products used within ALPAO optical test benches. Over the years, several custom solutions have been developed to support the integration, alignment, and testing of deformable mirrors, wavefront sensors, and high-power optical systems. Some of these solutions, including large-stroke Tip-Tilt mounts for very large deformable mirrors, have revealed limitations and required significant adaptations during integration.
The internship will focus on redesigning and industrializing existing opto-mechanical systems while developing new alignment and positioning products adapted to future ALPAO needs. The candidate will work closely with optical, mechanical, and system engineers to improve the robustness, ease of integration, alignment performance, and maintainability of optical assemblies.
Your main Responsibilities :
Redesign of existing Tip-Tilt mounts for large deformable mirrors.
Development of dedicated Tip-Tilt and positioning stages for Wavefront Sensors (WFS).
Improvement of opto-mechanical interfaces used on optical benches.
Design of modular alignment and adjustment mechanisms.
Optimization of assembly, alignment, and maintenance procedures.
Development of standardized opto-mechanical building blocks reusable across multiple projects.
The work will combine mechanical design, optical integration, prototyping, testing, and validation on real ALPAO optical systems.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a Master's or Engineering School student with a strong interest in opto-mechanical systems, precision engineering, and laboratory-based development.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment involving optics, mechanics, and experimental validation. The internship will combine design activities, prototyping, testing, and hands-on work on optical benches.
